Aims & Goals
Our aims are simple but can be made difficult without the unification of the general public who make up our society. Together, we can achieve positive change to help create a world which shares socio-economic equality, peace and justice.
- Bridge the gap of communication between civilian and key-decision makers through educating about pressing issues.
- To persuade the Government to place the UN at the centre of foreign policy, operating through its agencies and programmes wherever possible, supporting it with adequate funds and personnel.
- To enhance the Government's participation in the UN system, urging that it is transparent and publicly accountable.
- To encourage wider knowledge and understanding of the UN Charter, and of proposals for UN Reform, by the general public and particularly in education.
- To obtain information about current UN activities from all available sources, including UN offices and websites, and to encourage the widest possible exposure and discussion of those activities.
Means to include:
- Addressing decision-makers, particularly in Government and Parliament.
- Working with journalists.
- Working with academics, teachers and other educators.
- Addressing the public directly, through meetings, articles and leaflets.
Co-operating with organisations working for peace, human rights, development, the environment, international law and other issues related to the UN.
